Why this course

Serious and organised crime is the most critical national security threat faced by the UK, and persistently erodes our economy and our communities. Serious and organised criminals operating in the UK cost us at least £37 billion each year. The government introduced the revised serious and organised crime strategy in November 2018 which puts the onus on law enforcement to ensure management of organised crime groups and delivery against 4 key objectives:

1. Relentless disruption and targeted action against the highest harm serious and organised criminals and networks
2. Building the highest levels of defence and resilience in vulnerable people, communities, businesses and systems
3. Stopping the problem at source, identifying and supporting those at risk of engaging in criminality
4. Establishing a single, whole-system approach 

 
Aim of this Training Course
To provide an understanding of the requirements of the Serious and Organised Crime Strategy and develop a comprehensive understanding of the role of the Lead Responsible Officer [LRO] and delivery of the 4P Plan

4. Understanding how to develop an effective ‘Pursue’ strategy 
5. Understanding how to develop an effective ‘Prepare’ strategy 
6. Understanding how to develop an effective ‘Protect’ strategy 
7. Understanding how to develop an effective ‘Prevent’ strategy 
8. Understand stakeholder management to develop effective partnerships in developing an effective 4P Plan
9. Using National Decision-making Model for effective decision making. 
10. Understand the mechanisms of MoRiLE, PHIA Probability Yardsticks, P Bandings and Tiers in effective OCG Management
11. Applying procedures to ensure proper tasking and record keeping.
